Bio:Conrad F. Mallek, a Norridge, Illinois native, graduated from Ridgewood High School in June 1969. He earned his varsity letters in wrestling (3 years) and track (pole vault 3 years). He had a full wrestling scholarship at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accountancy in May 1973. In 1976 he received his J.D. from John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps in August 1975. He graduated from Naval Justice School in August 1977. He was a Judge Advocate on active duty in the United States Marine Corps from August 1977 until May 1988. He has been in the United States Marine Corps Reserve from July 1988 to March 2004, when he retired with 28 years of service. Colonel Mallek was stationed at the following duty stations: Okinawa, Japan; Yuma, Arizona; Subic Bay, Republic of the Philippines; Tustin, California; and El Toro, California. In his twelve years of active duty he had prosecuted or defended approximately 300 military criminal bench and jury trials from major felonies to simple misdemeanors, including murder, narcotics, child molestation, rape, armed robbery, larceny, aggravated assault and bad checks. He has spent approximately five years as a trial counsel and five years as a defense counsel and two years in review.
