Bio:With almost thirty years of counseling individuals and companies in high risk cases, David’s focus is threefold: helping his clients anticipate and avoid legal land mines; guiding them through audits and investigations; and providing them with highly creative representation in litigation ranging from class action lawsuits to state tax protests to complex land use matters. Most recently, David successfully represented a large multichannel retailer in a federal class action involving telemarketing; obtained a permanent injunction in an international arbitration in New York City involving a Taiwanese military procurement; and struck down a land use consent agreement involving an international construction firm. His active matters include representing national retailers in challenges to Ohio’s Commercial Activity Tax, including an appeal before the Supreme Court of Ohio; advising companies on compliance with state laws barring the collection of personal information during credit card transactions; and helping the residents of a Maine island reestablish public access to a cherished beach.
