Bio:David R. Heffernan is a partner in the firm's Miami office. In his extensive trial practice throughout the State of Florida, he has successfully represented both individuals as well as corporations in complex tort litigation claims which include medical malpractice, wrongful death, significant personal injury, automobile and trucking accidents, and pharmaceutical and products liability. He has obtained numerous seven figure settlements and verdicts in complex litigation. Before beginning his career as an attorney, David R. Heffernan was a starting offensive tackle for the University of Miami Hurricanes, 1983, National Championship Team. Shortly thereafter, he was drafted to the NFL and played for various teams over a four year period. He was a football analyst and talk show host for WIOD, 610 AM and WQAM 560 AM from 1993 through 1998 and was also a color commentator for the Canes on Fox Sports Net. Mr. Heffernan is a member of the Iron Arrow Society, the highest honor attained at the University of Miami. For over a decade he has served as an Adjunct Professor in the trial program at the University of Miami School of Law. Currently he serves on the Florida Bar Committee for Professional Ethics.
