Bio:Miriam Solon Weintraub was born in upstate New York and spent most of her adult life in New York City. Mrs. Weintraub graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, and from the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law where she was awarded her juris doctorate degree. Mrs. Weintraub was admitted to the bar of the State of New York in 1980 and is also licensed to practice in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. Mrs. Weintraub has extensive background in legal publishing, working over ten years for Matthew Bender where she wrote and edited, for the benefit of other members of the bar treatises in such diverse areas of law as domestic relations, products liability, medical malpractice, and premises liability. Since moving to Long Island, Mrs. Weintraub has served on the Law Guardian panel of the 10th Judicial District covering the counties of Suffolk and Nassau, appointed by the judges in said district to represent the interests of children in both Supreme Court and Family Court in matters involving custody, visitation, child neglect and abuse and family offense proceeding. She is also a member of the assigned counsel defendant plan program appointed by Family Court judges to represent parents involved in Family Court proceedings. Mrs. Weintraub is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association and the Huntington Lawyers Club.
