Practice Area: Art started the Aguilar Law Firm on June 14, 2022, when he figured out that individual clients and companies were specifically seeking him out. To tell the truth, he figured that building another person's kingdom is not the best path to success in the legal field.
Art was initially trained by some of the best lawyers in Houston, with big name law firms. Partners who are board certified in civil trial law, and appellate law. In his roles as an associate and former in house attorney for a nationwide insurance company, he gained valuable and practical trial experience which is rare among the younger lawyers. This experience includes, among many others, commercial litigation, construction litigation, insurance coverage litigation, assisting in appellate proceedings, and his favorite (bread and butter practice) personal injury defense. Art has taken and defended well over 90 depositions and has learned tactics which will knock a witness back to his heels, and make them think twice about being untruthful under oath. He has experience representing insurance carriers in catastrophic personal injury, and wrongful death cases. Similarly, Art has assisted in several insurance coverage disputes, ranging from minor car wrecks to million-dollar claims. Art has pre-trial and very real trial experience, all of which ranges from contested motion hearings, complex dispositive motion practice, taking and defending depositions, pre-trial proceedings, picking juries, presenting and cross-examining witnesses, and arguing the jury charge.
He has also assisted in trials involving a mixed bag of issues, including breach of contract, fraud, DTPA, personal injury claims, and trade secrets.
Art prides himself in representing the client, having an incorruptible sense of integrity, to both the Court and adversaries, and establishing a reputation for getting the case resolved, not dragging it out.
About: Art Aguilar was born and raised in south Texas. He worked his way up from extremely humble beginnings, working his way through high school in minimum wage jobs, and having to deal with all the legal barriers that the common person experiences.
After serving honorably in the U.S. Army, and having taught at the high school level, Art learned the value of basic hard work. He believes that hard work beats talent every single time. Because of his commitment, determination, and integrity, Art now represents publicly traded multi-billion-dollar entities.
Most importantly, Art is an aggressive young trial lawyer.
Art has tried several cases to verdict in some of the toughest counties, including Harris, Dallas, and Collin. Because of his actual jury trial experience, including having picked several juries himself, Art can validly analyze a case, giving clients real expectations. Art has been specifically sought out by major multi-billion-dollar companies, commercial line adjusters of major insurance companies, and small businesses.
However, Art has not forgotten his humble beginnings, and often represents the little man or the small family-owned business when need be. For these reasons he charges very reasonable fees. Art’s experience includes commercial litigation, construction litigation, insurance coverage litigation, assisting in appellate proceedings, and his favorite (bread and butter practice) personal injury. He has experience representing insurance carriers in catastrophic personal injury, and wrongful death cases. Art has held many positions within the federal and local branches of government, some of which include, externing for a federal judge, interning for a federal agency in Washington D.C., sitting on a local government committee, and serving as a high school teacher.
