About: Mr. Green was born in Brooklyn, New York. Mr. Green graduated from Brandeis University in Boston with a cum laude degree in American Studies in 1979. Mr. Green graduated Tulane Law School in New Orleans in 1982 and then moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Mr. Green was admitted to the New Mexico bar in October, 1982. He began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in the First Judicial District, but shortly thereafter, decided to open his own law practice.
Mr. Green closed his law practice in 1992 and focused the next few years on a large real estate project. Mr. Green also began teaching at the Santa Fe Community College and consulting on computers. The real estate project was completed in 1998 and Mr. Green went back to practicing law in 2002.
One of Mr. Green’s first cases after reopening his legal practice involved representing the town of Anton Chico without charge for an appeal of the WIPP route that was supposed to run right through the center of Anton Chico. The appeal prevented the use of the WIPP route in Anton Chico and then the New Mexico legislature moved the WIPP route to its current location, adding federal funding to improve the road.
During those early years, Mr. Green also prevented a backroom deal that allowed Sam’s Club to open its gas station without public comment. After Sam’s Club resubmitted its gas station application and the public was heard on the new location, Mr. Green’s efforts resulted in a new, improved entrance for the gas pumps, an improved entrance to the Santa Fe Place (then the Villa Linda Mall), additional signs, and a payment to the City of Santa Fe for road work.
Mr. Green is a longstanding member of the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice. Mr. Green has received many awards over the years, including awards for free representation of the elderly and a yearly award for providing free legal services. Mr. Green was also appointed by the Governor of New Mexico to the New Mexico Brain Injury Advisory Council for five years.
