About: I founded Rosenfelt Family Law in 2010. I previously worked for other law firms in the Orlando/Orange County area for many years practicing primarily Family Law. During that time period, I learned a great deal about practicing Family Law in larger law firms, including how clients are managed, communicated with and billed.
Not surprisingly, larger law firms in the Central Florida area are not optimized to provide the necessary level of service that most Family Law and Divorce clients require. Larger law firms have billing requirements for their associates and partners that causes their attorneys to often work with an eye towards billing first and proving quality client service somewhere thereafter. Larger law firms have many costs or overhead that ultimately trickle down to the client in the form of more expensive billing, higher initial retainers, and sometimes complex administrative issues.
Since founding Rosenfelt Family Law, I have discovered a level of freedom with my practice that has been nothing short of life-changing. I honestly did not like practicing law very much for larger law firms. Now, I look forward to working with my clients each and every day with their Divorce and Family Law cases. It is no longer “work” for me. It is my passion. The easiest way to explain it, I think, is that I’ve always been a “people person” and running my own Family Law practice allows me to engage with my clients daily and provide them with the level of service that they deserve. Make no mistake about it: Going through a Divorce or Family Law matter is one of the most stressful things that you will ever endure. You absolutely must have not just an attorney, but an experienced attorney with whom you like working if you are to come out of the process with the least amount of emotional and financial damage.
And if you have to make an appointment to merely talk to your attorney on the phone concerning your Orlando area divorce, then you will be frustrated because there will be a delay before you feel that your issue, whatever it may be, is resolved. Unfortunately, many attorneys after they have been retained seem to spend as little time as possible actually communicating with their attorneys. They either push the calls over to staff members or require that the “dreaded telephone conference” be scheduled as a predicate for speaking to them.
I think that is absurd. You are paying your hard-earned money (and lots of it) for professional help. I take telephone calls from my clients every time (with very rare exceptions) that they call unless I am with my daughter, sleeping, in Court, or meeting or talking with another client. This means that I frequently answer telephone calls until 11:00 p.m. at night and I do it gladly and without hesitation. I understand all too well that you have to work and that talking about your divorce, child custody/support, paternity matter or other family law issue.
