Bio:Prior to my practicing family law, I worked for many years in the financial industry. While I enjoyed my position, I did not feel as though I was making an impact on client's lives that would stay with them forever. I wanted to work to make lives better and to empower people to make important decisions for themselves and for their families. After much encouragement from family and friends, I decided to change careers, return to school full-time and enter the field of law. I was determined to learn everything I could to not only be a good attorney but to learn to really listen to clients, understand their needs and concerns, and empower them to make informed decisions about life-changing events. Upon graduation, I began my new career with Legal Aid of North Carolina in Winston-Salem. Although I loved working with people on housing and consumer issues, my practice was limited to only those people who qualified for services. I wanted to do more. In February, 2005, I found a small practice where I could work exclusively with family law matters. In addition to my private practice, I was able to continue to help others who can not afford private counsel through my volunteer efforts.
