Bio:Matthew C. Davies is an attorney in Korein Tillery's Chicago office and is licensed to practice in Illinois. He received his B.A. from Northwestern University in 2002 where he focused his studies on medieval history. While completing his undergraduate degree, Mr. Davies also spent a year studying at University College London where he split his time between the UCL History Department and the Institute of Archaeology. During that time he was heavily involved in several high profile class actions including Barbara's Sales, Inc. v. Intel Corp., Hoormann v. SmithKline Beecham, and the 8-week trial and subsequent Illinois Supreme Court appeal of Price v. Philip Morris. While working as a paralegal, Mr. Davies was also retained by the Canadian Government in 2005 to assist in efforts to reform Canadian tobacco advertising practices. In 2009, Mr. Davies received his J.D. from New York University School of Law where he focused his studies on aggregate litigation. During his 3L year, Mr. Davies also participated in NYU's Immigrant Rights Clinic where he co-represented a lawful permanent resident before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit who faced deportation and a permanent bar to returning to his family in the U.S. due to dismissed drug charges.
