Bio: Beau, a native of Southern California, recently returned to the area after beginning his legal career at an AmLaw 100 firm in Washington, D.C. While practicing in D.C., Beau specialized in litigation and placed a great emphasis on pro bono work. In his litigation practice, Beau represented companies in connection with the misappropriation of technology. Beau has varied experiences through his pro bono practice. Beau played a significant role in the drafting of petition for habeas corpus for a death-row inmate in Texas convicted of murder and sentenced to death on the basis of discredited science. Beau also successfully represented a pretrial detainee suing to recover for her unconstitutional treatment while detained within the Los Angeles County Jail System in front of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals (Shorter v. Baca (9th Cir. 2018) 895 F.3d 1176). More recently, Beau drafted an asylum brief on behalf of an immigrant from El Salvador claiming asylum due to threats on his life by the MS-13 gang for disobeying gang orders to smuggle contraband into the prison where he worked.
