Bio: Attorney Debra Edmondson graduated from The University of Texas at Dallas in 1996 with a B.A. in Government and Politics. She attended Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University and graduated with a J.D. degree in 2004. Edmondson is passionate about her adopted hometown, Southlake, and has been actively involved in that community for over fifteen years. She served two terms on the Southlake Planning and Zoning Commission and was elected to the Southlake City Council in 1998. Edmondson is currently the President of the Board of Directors for the Bob Jones Nature Center Organization, which works closely with the City of Southlake in the oversight of the Bob Jones Nature Center.Edmondson started the Edmondson Law Firm in 2005. She left private practice to take a job as an in house attorney with an oil and gas company in 2006. She eventually assumed the position of General Counsel. Most recently, she was General Counsel for a Dallas-based accounting firm. She oversaw all corporate matters and human resources at both companies. Edmondson has years of experience working on municipal legal issues from both sides of the podium. She has represented numerous clients before cities and also local and state agencies.
