He earned his Bachelor of Arts in 1977 and his Master of Public Administration in 1978 from USD. Mr. Bettmann then earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Idaho in Moscow. He soon returned to Rapid City where he served as a Deputy States Attorney until 1983.Since then, Mr. Bettmann has been in private practice. He is licensed to practice law in South Dakota and Nebraska trial and appellate courts, as well as federal courts in South Dakota. He also holds a license to practice in the Eighth Circuit United States Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.Mr. Bettmann’s resume encompasses several aspects of law. He is highly experienced in business management and estate planning matters, including wills, trusts, and probate administration.
