Bio:Karen M. Phillips joined Adelstein, Sharpe & Serka in 2012, after returning home to Bellingham after ten years in upstate New York. Karen is a Bellingham native and Sehome High School graduate. Karen earned her law degree from Cornell Law School, where she was awarded the Stanley E. Gould Prize for Public Interest Law and the CALI Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy. Karen brings extensive litigation experience to her practice. Prior to joining the firm, Karen served four years as a law clerk to the Honorable Marian W. Payson, United States Magistrate Judge for the Western District of New York and spent three years litigating discrimination claims in federal court in Rochester, New York.
