Bio:Raymond G. Mullins was born in Detroit, Michigan. He attended the Ypsilanti Public Schools and graduated from Ypsilanti (Michigan) High School in 1961 and from Howard University in Washington, D.C., in 1965, with a B.A. Degree in Economics and minor in Government. On February 13, 1966, he entered the United States Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant, was trained and served as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer and received an Honorable Discharged on February 12, 1970 with the rank of Captain. In September 1970, Attorney Mullins entered the University of Michigan Law School where he attained his Juris Doctor Degree in 1973. After graduation, he clerked with a judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. On August 2, 1974, he returned home to Ypsilanti and opened a sole practice of law, which has been in continuous service until the present. On January 9, 2012, Attorney Mullins was admitted to the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States. Attorney Mullins has been active in many civic organizations since returning home to practice law. Most notably, he served as President of the Ypsilanti Branch of the NAACP from 1979 through 1980, and of the Ypsilanti-Willow Run Branch of the NAACP from 1987 through 1998. During the latter administration the Branch received several Thalheimer Awards for being one of the best Branches in the nation.
