The plaintiff filed suit against the bank and its employee alleging that the statute required financial institutions to report suspicions of elder abuse to state authorities. At trial, the Court determined that the statute imposes no duty on financial institutions to make such reports, and that the statute provided no private cause of action against financial institutions for failing to make such a report. *** Represented the plaintiff, a leading developer of residential properties, in litigation related to a multi-million dollar real estate deal.
