Bio:John L. Kraft is a partner in the Firm's Public Finance Law Department. Mr. Kraft established the first nationally recognized Bond Counsel practice in the State of New Jersey in 1971. Mr. Kraft began his legal career at a Newark law firm in 1964. In 1967, he joined one of the three New York City firms that, at the time, handled most of New Jersey's bond work. In 1969, he moved to the second of the three New York Bond Counsel firms that handled most of the New Jersey municipal bond work. In 1970, he was appointed Associate Counsel to Governor William T. Cahill. As part of the Cahill Administration, he was responsible for all bonding matters, including those relating to the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority. In 1971, Mr. Kraft left the Governor's staff to establish Kraft & Hughes, the first New Jersey based Bond Counsel practice. For 30 years, Mr. Kraft practiced under the law firms' names of Kraft & Hughes, Kraft & McManimon and Lowenstein Sandler. In 2001, he established John L. Kraft, L.L.C. where he continued his Bond Counsel practice. He joined Lomurro, Davison, Eastman & Muñoz in September 2007 to head up the firm's newly created Public Finance Department. Mr. Kraft has served as Bond Counsel for 18 of the 21 counties and hundreds of municipalities, school districts, and authorities in New Jersey. He was the first New Jersey Bond Counsel for the State of New Jersey, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority and the New Jersey Turnpike Authority
