Bio:Brooks is a Greenville, South Carolina native who graduated from Mauldin High School. Following high school, he attended Gardner-Webb University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. At Gardner-Webb Brooks earned a soccer scholarship, started all four years, and had the privilege of being a team captain.Brooks went on to attend Clemson University, where he received a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering. During his time in Clemson, South Carolina, Brooks coached youth soccer teams and participated as an instructor for the University’s Men’s and Women’s summer soccer camps.Brooks later moved to Charleston, South Carolina where he worked in the Microbiology and Immunology Department at the Medical University of South Carolina. As part of the research team there, Brooks was published three times in peer reviewed scholarly journals.Encounters with intellectual property and patent disputes in the medical research field piqued Brooks’ interest in the law. His desire to learn more drew Brooks to the Charleston School of Law.Brooks graduated magna cum laude from the inaugural class of Charleston School of Law, where he was a Legal Research and Writing Teaching fellow, the Associate Justice of External Affairs on the Moot Court Board, a Dean’s Scholar, and both a Senator and Vice President of the Student Bar Association.
