Bio: Stuart Brooks is a former prosecutor who joins the firm after previously serving as an Assistant District Attorney in both Forsyth County and Pitt County, North Carolina. Stuart has been involved in over forty jury trials and hundreds of trials and hearings before a judge. Most recently, as an Assistant District Attorney at the Forsyth County District Attorney’s Office, Stuart was a felony prosecutor assigned to handle cases including homicide, robbery, breaking and entering, burglary, felony domestic violence, fraud and financial crimes.Stuart has been involved in numerous, complex vehicular homicide prosecutions as a member of the Forsyth County District Attorney’s Office’s Motor Vehicle Fatality Team. Previously in his career, Stuart served as Forsyth County’s DWI prosecutor and he has personally handled hundreds of driving while impaired cases in North Carolina district and superior courts. Stuart has also litigated a number of motions for appropriate relief (MARs) and post-conviction matters in superior court.Stuart has been a member of the North Carolina State Bar since 2013, and has previously held executive positions in the Young Lawyers Division of the Forsyth County Bar.
