Bio:RICHARD GILBERT joins the SRTK family in Sacramento after working as an associate with the workers' compensation legal team for Liberty mutual. Prior to this, Richard practiced in the areas of corporate and securities law and commercial litigation. With extensive knowledge of the Khmer language, Richard worked as a Khmer language translator and interpreter for over 11 years; the majority of this work consisted of Khmer language interpreting assignments for state and federal courts. During law school, Richard gained significant experience as a judicial extern for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and legal associate for the Documentation Center of Cambodia in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Prior to his extensive legal experience, Richard earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Politics with a minor in Asian Studies from Brigham Young University. Richard received his Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he served as an editor for the McGeorge Law Review and graduated with Great Distinction and as a member of the Order of the Coif. In addition to full fluency in Khmer, Richard is also semi-fluent in Thai and has limited capability in Japanese.
