Lauderdale, Florida where he was lead counsel on many jury trials in both County and Circuit Court. After leaving the Public Defender's office, he started his own law firm. He has defended thousands of people charged with DUI as well as many other misdemeanor and felony offenses. During his career, he has argued countless evidentiary motions (Motion to Suppress, Dismiss, etc.) and tried many jury and bench trials in County and Circuit Court. While in private practice, Mr. Harmelin has obtained numerous "Not Guilty" verdicts, including winning the Broward Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers "Hat Trick Award" for three consecutive not guilty verdicts.
