Well, it’s been 6+ years since we hired Preston Hall Oughton with the Law Office of Preston H Oughton PA. It took almost three years of being a loyal paying client, to discover the tactics being used by Preston and his firm. Preston created a billing dispute after we were extremely unhappy about him leaving us out of a hearing which we requested more than three times to be included in, and then lied about a court reporter being present after apologizing for not including us. Once we found out that he had failed to send demand letters that were promised to have been delivered, and withdrawing from our case just before deposition, mediation and our jury trial, we find out that he vexatiously filed a lawsuit against us, so we fired him. That's when we discovered so much more. Once we were able to retrieve our file nearly three months after we requested it, and after his overbilling and double billing, and lying about filing our complaint for more than 7 months, leaving us out of our own hearings, lying about court reporting records, fraudulently misrepresenting our case all along, and lack of communication, we then discovered more outrageous and deplorable acts, including fraud. When we refused to pay his deceptive bill with past due amounts, after paying every invoice prior in full, he ignored our requests to resolve the dispute for more than two months. This was not before holding our case hostage, and then withdrawing from counsel. We were left to resolve our case on our own, which was accomplished in less than a month after he withdrew! We finally got our chance to defend ourselves against Preston. We had three Judges who presided from 2021 to 2023. Once we prevailed at trial and received a court ordered Final Judgment with prejudice against Preston, which he refused to pay, he decided to appeal the verdict, filing a fraudulent Appeal bond. Isn’t that something? What is most important for the public to know is that in addition, we filed a Complaint with the Florida Bar, in which we were one of three separate Complainants against Preston H. Oughton. After an additional investigation by The Florida Bar, that lasted more than 2 years, he was found guilty and is awaiting his disciplinary sentencing on multiple counts including Fraud on our case. I would leave zero stars for Preston and his law firm. Unfortunately, the public doesn’t get to view the score of reviews that he has since removed or has deleted from the web. This took multiple attempts for ours to be published! Beware of Preston Hall Oughton PA. and good luck if you already retained him. We are still awaiting closure from this nightmare. We’re hopeful that the appellate courts will make the madness stop and return our faith in the judicial system. Thanks for nothing, Preston!!!!
