Bio:	Originally from the former Soviet Union, Veronica and her family came to the US as refugees in 1988.Settling in New York, Veronica attended prestigious Performing Arts schools where she continued her musical education. She always knew, however, that she was destined to do other important work, to serve a different purpose, to serve the immigrant community. Thus, after relocating to Houston and receiving her Bachelor Degree from the University of Houston, Veronica attended the University of Houston Law Center. While in law school,she participated in the renowned University of Houston Immigration Clinic, where, under the tutelage of the late Professor Joseph A. Vail, she was able to provide legal services to victims of domestic violence, displaced individuals seeking asylum, and others in need of pro bono services. After becoming licensed to practice law in 2003, Veronica started her own immigration law practice successfully representing a culturally diverse and varied group of clients. In 2008, she joined Scott and Associates, where she found her next passion: I-601 immigrant waivers of inadmissibility. It was the perfect fit: being able to help reunite families, for whom the immigrant waiver is often the step of last resort, was and continues to be especially meaningful to her.
