I will let this email speak for my review. I contacted KEL paid them $950 for a demand letter that they never produced. After emails and phone calls were never returned I ask for a refund: Good morning Your refund request has been received. Please note, your retainer agreement with KEL Attorneys is a non-refundable agreement and earned upon retention of the Firm, please review your copy of the retainer agreement for additional details. Attorney XXXX XXXX will begin the refund review. Refund reviews can take a minimum of 8 weeks for a decision. The final decision will be provided to you by US Mail to the address that we have on file. Please ensure that the Firm has your current address. If a refund is approved, the refund is issued in the same manner as your initial payment; if you paid in cash or check, a check will be issued and mailed to the address on file. Please note, a $500 administrative fee is withheld from any approved refund amount to cover the administrative costs of the opening and closing of your file. You may follow up on your refund request in 4 weeks. Sincerely, Dear XXXXX, That is totally unacceptable. I have no intention of waiting weeks or losing $500 to KEL for failure to provide services as agreed upon. I have checked my file status through the KEL client portal and see that no work whatsoever has been performed on my behalf. Unfortunately, I failed to research KEL before I paid your firm any money. Between the Better Business Bureau and the numerous KEL complaints I have recently learned about, I am very surprised to find you are still in business. If my funds are not returned to me within the next three business days, I will contact another attorney to pursue this matter as well as the local media to inform them that KEL is up to their old tricks. The sad thing here is I came to your firm for help. I told you that I am 100% disabled with little funds to work with and needed help while I was getting evicted. You looked me straight in the eye and told me that your people could help me. What you could do right now to make this right and actually help me is return the full amount of $950.
