Bio: As part of the Alcorn Immigration Law team, I focus on individual and family immigration matters, including green cards, citizenship, and asylum. I am grateful to be able to help families stay together and reunite in the U.S. As an immigrant, I identify with my clients. I was born in Iraq during the Gulf War. My parents tried to shelter my two older sisters and I to their best ability, but there was only so much that they could do to protect us while living in a highly volatile war-ridden country. Ultimately my parents decided that it was best to raise me and my sisters in a safer, more promising country. When I was five years old, my family immigrated to the United States for a more secure life with brighter opportunities. I feel blessed that my parents settled us in Silicon Valley to join our extended family network here. As a teenager, I remember my parents struggling to fill out all the forms and gather all the evidence for us to become U.S. citizens. Since then, I aspired to become a lawyer to advocate for those in need of legal representation. That aim prompted me to volunteer with JusticeCorps, an AmeriCorps program designed to help family law litigants who are representing themselves, while earning my bachelor’s degree at UCLA. Experienced in both family-based immigration and family law matters, I understand how families struggle to be heard and to navigate the U.S. immigration law system. While attending Santa Clara University School of Law, I served
