Bio:Judge Scarpino is the head of the Firm’s Estate Practice Group. Before joining DelBello Donnellan Weingarten Wise & Wiederkehr, LLP, he had a distinguished 34 year career in Public Service, including 31 years as a Trial Judge. His Judicial career includes service as Senior City Judge of Mount Vernon, Westchester County Court Judge, New York State Supreme Court Justice and 14 years as Surrogate of Westchester. Prior to becoming a member of the Judiciary he served as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI). During his tenure as Surrogate of Westchester, he handled thousands of Estate matters, including some of the most complex and famous Estate cases, including those of Brooke Astor, Harry Winston, Thomas Carvel, and O. Winston Link. He has over 100 published and reported decisions and has been a guest lecturer at hundreds of BAR Association and Organization meetings. He also served as Supervising Judge of the Westchester Matrimonial Part and Supervising Judge of Article 81 and Fiduciary Matters for the Ninth Judicial District.Judge Scarpino teaches Surrogate’s Practice at Pace Law School and is an Adjunct Professor at Iona, Mercy and Westchester Community College. He has also been a faculty member of the NYS Trial Lawyers Association and the NYS BAR Association Trusts and Estates Section and Elder Law Section.
