Bio:Caitlin Bennett was born and raised in Odessa, Texas. She spent the first part of her undergrad at Texas Tech where she became a member of the Tri Delta Sorority. She graduated from the University of Texas San Antonio in May 2012 with a degree in Political Science. Caitlin stayed in San Antonio to pursue her law degree, graduating from St. Mary’s University in May 2015 where she served on several boards and as the secretary of the Student Bar Association.Caitlin started law school wanting to pursue a career in oil and gas law. That quickly changed after starting her first job with Zarka Allen Law Firm. She became heavily focused on family law and criminal defense. After her first criminal defense client jumped out of the jury box and ran across the courtroom, Caitlin decided to focus her strengths on family law.Caitlin’s first family law hearing was against what most attorneys would refer to as a heavy hitter. Caitlin had been working on this hearing for months and, in the end, received a very favorable outcome for her client, so much so that opposing counsel asked for “findings of fact and conclusions of law.” It was a learning experience and what cemented Caitlin’s love in family law.Caitlin’s current approach to handling her work is to address every case from the ground up and to never be afraid of where a case may lead or where it came from.
