Bio:Daina C. Borteck, Esq. joined the Matrimonial and Family Law Department of Einhorn Harris in April 2013. Prior to joining the firm, Daina's diverse practice included associate positions at two of the largest law firms in the country. Daina, who had always wanted to become an attorney, enrolled in law school in 2001, attending the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City. Upon graduation, Daina served as a Judicial Clerk to the Honorable John W. Bissell, U.S. District Chief Judge in Newark. Following that clerkship, she began working as an associate for an American Lawyer Top Ten law firm. Thereafter, she joined multiple partners who left that firm to launch the New Jersey office of a competing international law firm. She worked closely with those partners for seven years to grow the New Jersey office and expand the firm's national litigation practice. During that time, she was involved in all aspects of an unprecedented litigation brought by more than 10,000 plaintiffs who had participated in the rescue, recover and debris removal at the World Trade Center after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Daina is a native of Michigan who came to the New Jersey area by way of Jamaica and London. Upon graduation from the University of Michigan in 1999, she earned her Master's Degree in International Service through the University of Surrey Roehampton. As part of her studies, she spent the first 6 months of that Master's Degree program in Kingston, Jamaica working and study
