A graduate of the Air Force Academy, Don became an officer and pilot flying missions in B-52s. After six years in the Air Force, Don began a career as a commercial airline pilot while still serving his country as a member of the Tennessee Air National Guard. Before he retired as an Airbus A-320 Captain at Northwest Airlines, Don served on the negotiating committee, representing the pilots on issues of pay and benefits.
