Bio:Erin McNeil Young was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. She is a 1996 cum laude graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in both English and Political Science. In 1999, Mrs. Young graduated from the UNC School of Law where she was member of the Holderness Moot Court Negotiation Team, Black Law Students' Association, and a 1997 recipient of the Gressman-Pollitt Award for oral advocacy. She joined Yates, McLamb & Weyher, L.L.P. in September 1999 as an associate and became a partner in 2007. Since joining the firm, Mrs. Young has concentrated her practice in the areas of insurance defense, including general liability and medical malpractice defense. She has represented an array of physicians, nursing homes, private individuals, and corporations in her defense of malpractice and personal injury claims throughout the state. She is a member of the American Bar Association, North Carolina Bar Association (currently serving her final term as a Litigation Section Council member), Wake County Bar Association, NC Association of Defense Attorneys, and Defense Research Institute. Mrs. Young has been selected for inclusion in North Carolina Super Lawyers1 "Rising Stars" edition by peer evaluation in the medical malpractice defense area in 2012.
