Before going to law school, Heather spent nearly five years working for one of the nation’s largest auto insurers as a Claims Adjuster where she handled both attorney-represented and non-represented Injury claims. This experience helped her to understand how claims adjusters gather and use information when deciding whether and how much to pay on a claim. Heather’s passion for litigation was ignited when she filed her first lawsuit in a wage and hour complaint in her capacity as student attorney in the civil litigation clinic at DU. While not all cases require litigation to be resolved, Heather understands that sometimes an insurance company or wrongdoer will simply refuse to do the right thing if a lawsuit is not filed. Heather is a graduate of the Rocky Mountain Trial Skills Building Program at the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. She completes continuing education courses in litigation topics annually and litigates cases throughout Colorado as necessary to further her clients’ objectives.
