Bio:Jerry E. Rothrock concentrates on energy policy and regulatory matters before executive and independent agencies, including the United States Department of the Interior (DOI) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. He also litigates energy matters before the federal courts on behalf of the oil and gas industry against the government and between private parties. He has also represented major integrated refiners, independent refiners and independent producers in litigation brought by the DOE to recover multibillion-dollar claims for alleged price overcharges. Before joining Moyers, Martin, Santee & Imel, Mr. Rothrock was a partner with Akin, Gump where we worked for 35 years. Prior to joining Akin, Gump, Mr. Rothrock worked in the Office of Hearings and Appeals of the Federal Energy Administration for several years. He adjudicated numerous enforcement actions involving the federal price controls that were established in response to the Arab oil embargo in 1973. Prior to his career in law, Mr. Rothrock was a mathematician for NASA and TRW Systems, Inc. at the Johnson Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston, Texas, where he developed computer simulations of the Apollo Spacecraft and the Saturn V lunar launch vehicle. Based on those simulations, he helped design and develop trajectories used in the Apollo Lunar Exploration Program, including the first successful lunar landing.
