Bio:Joseph Weimortz Jr. grew up primarily in Huntington Beach, California. After graduating from Fountain Valley High School, Joe attended the University of California, Irvine, where he obtained a B.A. in History in 1991. In 1995, Joe received a Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in San Diego. While attending California Western, Joe received an American Jurisprudence Award for Trial Practice, was a member of the California Western Trial Team, and was a California Regional Winner in the American Trial Lawyers Association national Student Trial Advocacy Competition. In addition, Joe was a staff writer for the California Western Law Review and served as an Honor Counsel on the Professional Responsibility Committee. While in law school, Joe was a law clerk for both the Civil Division and Criminal Division of the United States Attorney's Office in San Diego. Later, Joe worked as a Certified Legal Intern at the Major Narcotics Unit of the San Diego District Attorney's Office. After graduation from law school, Joe was a law clerk in the Ventura County District. Attorney's Office until he became a Ventura County Deputy District Attorney in December of 1996. In November of 1997, Joe became a Deputy District Attorney for the County of Los Angeles.
