Bio:Kate Mueting is a partner in the Washington, D.C., office of Sanford Heisler Sharp and a Co-Chair of the firm’s Title VII Practice. Kate currently serves as lead counsel in the hard-fought Donna Kassman et al. v. KPMG LLP, which seeks to remedy that firm’s systemic discrimination in pay and promotion, discrimination based on pregnancy, and chronic failure to properly investigate and resolve complaints of discrimination and harassment. Kate leads a team of more than a dozen fighting to challenge gender discrimination at the Big Four Accounting Firm. Kate and her colleagues won conditional certification of the Equal Pay Act claims, and since then more than 1,100 female employees have joined the litigation as a means of securing fair and equitable compensation.
