After graduation from high school, he attended college at Temple University in Philadelphia for his freshman year, and graduated cum laude from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia in 1972. He then attended Stetson University of Law, from which he graduated in 1975. At that time, during his law school matriculation, Larry worked for Legal Aid Services in St. Petersburg, Florida, as well as clerked for attorneys Pope and graduation from law school in 1975, Larry came to Dade City, Florida. He practiced from 1975 through December of 1976 with the law firm of Larkin, Larkin & Waller which, at the time of his departure, was known as Larkin, Larkin, Waller & Hersch. In 1977, a new partnership was formed and was known as Waller & Hersch, at which he worked from 1977 and until August of 1988. Larry then established Larry S. Hersch, Esq.,P.A., his own firm.
