Bio:Martha Mothershead joined Baskin, Jackson & Duffett in October of 2011. A licensed attorney since 1985, Martha practiced in Michigan after attending University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, where she received the Order of Barristers award for excellence in courtroom advocacy.Her practice currently focuses on elder law and landlord-tenant matters, though she has experience in a wide range of matters including business and non-profit start-ups, estate planning and probate litigation, and personal injury litigation. She appears regularly in state courts of all northern Virginia jurisdictions. Martha's elder law practice is dedicated to serving seniors and persons with disabilities. She offers pre-planning and crisis planning services designed to help clients apply and qualify for Medicaid benefits, and establish special needs trusts for the disabled. Martha is an authorized Guardian ad litem for incapacitated adults in Fairfax County, Arlington County, and the City of Alexandria, Virginia.Martha, her husband, Rob, and their two children live in the City of Falls Church, Virginia.
