Bio:Matt is from the Four Corners area of New Mexico, and his family has worked in the oil and gas industry for over fifty years. He moved to Colorado in 2006 following obtaining a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers College in New Brunswick, New Jersey, with High Honors in history and political science. Matt attended the University of Colorado Law School and graduated in 2009 with a law degree. Following law school, he practiced oil and gas law for more than 5 years with a mid-size law firm in Denver, specializing in preparing title opinions for the largest operators in Colorado. Matt has vast experience in drafting title opinions for oil and gas operators in Colorado, and most specifically, the DJ Basin, including the Wattenberg area and the prominent Niobrara shale of northeastern Colorado. He is an expert on subdivision and urban title, complicated oil and gas leasehold chains, and title project management. Matt helped to manage and contribute to several large horizontal unit opinions in Colorado, including a fee lease unit covering several sections and over 70 wells for operations worth over a billion dollars.
