Bio:Norman Newmark’s practice is focused on tax, estate planning and related corporate matters. Norman also represents clients in connection with estate and trust administration, guardianships, and probate litigation. He represents individuals and businesses in tax controversies before the Internal Revenue Service and the tax departments of various states, in the US Tax Court, and in state level administrative litigation. As part of a Missouri Bar subcommittee, Norman drafted key provisions of the Missouri Uniform Powers of Appointment Act passed by the Missouri General Assembly and signed into law by the governor. Norman is a prolific speaker at continuing legal education events, both local and national. He has authored or co-authored articles in state and national legal periodicals on tax and estate planning related topics such as the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, the Missouri Uniform Powers of Appointment Act, the new IRS partnership audit and collection rules, and the US Supreme Court decision on internet sales taxes in South Dakota v. Wayfair. He is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Washington University School of Law, where he teaches corporate taxation, and a Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel.
