I had a paid consultation with this firm at $300 for a wrongful termination case, where breach of the Union contract had occurred three different times and I had emails with both the Union and the Company blatantly admiting to the breach of contract. I presented him with the information of the case and expressed that I did not want to be represented by anyone but him. He reviewed the information and told me and my wife that he thought I had a strong case and that he would be happy to represent me at $300 an hour and he estimated that the case would cost me about $15,000 in total and he would need about $2500 up front for him to file the case in the court. We talked about him taking the case for the $2500 up front and him being paid the remainder after a settlement was reached because I was now unemployed and didn't have much money to work with and he said he was open to this. At this time the Union had a grievance filed on my behalf and he said I should wait and let them try to reach a settlement for me. I didn't take much stock in the Union being successful because it is a well known among the workers that the Union is in bed with Norfolk Southern. A month or so went by and I forwarded the two further emails i recieved from the Union the last stating that the company had rejected my grievance and the Union was closing the case. He billed me for an additional $400. I emailed him after the Union grievance failed and told him I would like to proceed with hiring him and asked what he needed from me to get started with the case. His reply was shocking to me, all of the sudden he wanted to pawn me off on a junior associate to handle the case and wanted $175 per hour for the junior associate and a $15,000 deposit. I asked him why I had paid for a consultation if none of the cost information he presented me with was true! I had based my meager military retirement finances for this case around the initial quote he had given me. He knew up front that I could not afford a $15,000 deposit and $175 per hour, yet he milked me along taking $700 for nothing but lies. Being retired military, we are taught honor, courage, and commitment. Honoring others above ourselves, courage to do what is right, and commitment to the honorable cause. My fellow brothers and sisters, beware! This guy exhibited none of those qualities! Save your time and money and find someone with even a small amount of integrity...
