He was an enlisted Infantryman for the 10 years before commissioning as an Engineer Officer to finish out his career. Scott was deployed on multiple combat tours and earned various awards and decorations. He also earned his Bachelor of Arts in General Studies at Columbia College and his Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from The University of Louisville while serving on active duty.
