- Consultation fee scammers!! - - - 1/30/2023 - flag as inappropriate - comment
I googled a tenant lawyer as I had a dispute with my prior apartment complex. The search brought up Cronus law and I submitted an inquiry. I got an email a few days later that stated: "I have received your inquiry. Please reply to this email with a brief summary explaining your issue." from Victoria Denbow. I replied and gave a 3-paragraph synopsis of my issue. This was the reply from the same person: "I have received your inquiry. I am able to schedule you for a telephonic consultation with our landlord/tenant attorney, Yash Pahwa. The consultation is $150 for 30 minutes. If you are interested in scheduling, please respond here with the below requested information." I declined with a reply email of just, "No" also, because during this time I reached out to a few other lawyers and have a free consultation. BUT Victoria Denbow decided to reply with: "Good morning, The attorneys have looked this over and unfortunately, we apologize but we are not able to help you on this matter." Wait.. what? my reply: You could and would help if I paid that ridiculous fee, but I’ll let y’all have trying to justify your “ decline letter”. Victoria Denbow reply: Yes ma’am, we are unable to help without scheduling a consultation first. We do not have any pro bono attorneys if that is what you were looking for. So you "reviewed" my initial inquiry, hit me with a consultation fee that I declined, said an attorney looked at it and they cannot help me.. but wanted a consultation fee paid. What if I would have said yes to that fee..your lawyer firm according to this already knew that the attorney was not going to help. so you would have taken that fee KNOWNING you would be scamming and further victimizing someone. Then making an assumption that I was looking for a pro bono lawyer?! This all happened withing minutes. Posting on any and all forums. I should have looked at their reviews prior reviews on how the consult fee was taken. Scam!!!
