Bio: Avery is a member of the Professional Liability Department. Prior to joining Marshall Dennehey, Avery worked as litigation attorney for the state of Florida both at the State Attorney's Office for the Fourth Judicial Circuit, and at the St. Johns River Water Management District. At the State Attorney's Office, Avery handled complex wiretap cases as well as cases against sexually violent predators. At the St. Johns River Water Management District, Avery obtained experience in regulatory and permitting cases, and worked closely with engineers, surveyors and environmental scientists on complex litigation cases. She has tried numerous jury trials to verdict in Jacksonville, Florida, and has litigated cases in front of Florida's Division of Administrative Hearings. Avery attended college at Principia College in Elsah, Illinois, where she majored in English Literature and participated in Moot Court. She also played basketball and captained the NCAA Division III team. Avery attended law school in her home town of Jacksonville, Florida at Florida Coastal School of Law where she obtained the Environmental Law Certificate and Pro Bono Law Certificate.
