I hired Brian Hersh to be my lawyer......I owned a 50% interest in a house. The other owner threatened to sue me if I didn't sell them my share for a price which was much lower than the actual value. During the first week, Hersh left me three messages all in one day. When I called him back, he said opposing counsel wanted some information. I asked him why that guy wanted it. He said he didn't know. WHAT DOES HE MEAN HE DOESN'T KNOW.? HE LEAVES ME THREE MESSAGES IN ONE DAY AND HE DOESN'T KNOW....THAT LIAR....I SHOULD HAVE FIRED HIM AFTER THAT CONVERSATION. . He went back and forth with their attorney, and nothing was happening. One day, after a few months, he said to me that I should give them what they want because they're not going to give me any more money than what they said. WHAT KIND OF A JERK OF AN ATTORNEY WOULD SAY THAT? And I allowed him to talk me into it. So I'm more to blame than he is. He probably was tired of handling the case after so much time and nothing was happening. If that was the way he felt about it, ALL HE HAD TO DO WAS TELL ME.....I DIDN'T WANT AN ATTORNEY HANDLING MY CASE THAT DIDN'T WANT TO.....I WOULD HAVE HIRED SOMEONE ELSE TO REPRESENT ME. Part of the agreement was that the other party was supposed to pay for all of the outstanding real estate taxes. HERSH KNEW THIS. After the contract was prepared by the opposing attorney, I didn't see anything about the real estate taxes. So I asked Hersh about it. HE TOLD ME IT WAS IN THERE. So I signed the agreement. When the time came for the buyers to pay me the money, THEY WANTED ME TO PAY FOR HALF OF THE REAL ESTATE TAXES. So I spoke with Hersh, and told him what he said to me about the real estate taxes being in the contract. So what did that jerk do? HE LIED THROUGH HIS TEETH AND TOLD ME HE SAID SOMETHING ELSE. And he acted like he couldn't care less about any of this and didn't want to be involved in it. So I hired another attorney, and sued the buyers. Other documents indicated that they were supposed to pay for all of the taxes, and I was told I had a good case. But, when the case went to court, I got an idiot judge. This guy was rated low among the attorneys in Miami Dade County. And a day before his last election, which he lost, the Miami Herald ran a full page article on him about how bad of a judge he was. So, instead of making a ruling, the judge wanted me to compromise. Also, on the way out of his chambers, the judge gave a compliment to the opposing counsel about his wife. So I'm sure he was biased in his favor. My attorney was young, inexperienced, and didn't know what to do about any of this. And I knew that to press the issue would have cost me more than settling on this idiot judge's request, so I accepted the compromise. So, I had to go through all of this ordeal, pay additional attorney fees, and part of the real estate taxes. All because of that idiot Hersh's negligence. And that jerk refused to accept responsibility for any of this. WHAT A SCUMBAG.
