Bio:Peer Reviewed | Carrie began her legal career at the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County handling a high-volume case load and going to court frequently to serve indigent individuals and families in evictions, foreclosures, domestic violence injunctions, family law cases, and immigration proceedings. Carrie and her husband later relocated to Pensacola to be near family where she joined her father in his Alabama law practice, assisting consumers in bankruptcy and defending against foreclosures and repossessions. She later went back to work as a staff attorney for Legal Services of North Florida, Inc., where she was able to help indigent families and individuals navigate the legal system. She continued practicing mainly in consumer protection law and attended the National Consumer Law Center’s Consumer Rights Litigation Conference and Max Gardner’s renowned Bankruptcy Litigation Model Boot Camp. In 2018, Carrie presented a seminar alongside colleagues entitled, “Using Community Lawyering to Promote Racial and Economic Justice,” at the American Bar Association’s Equal Justice Conference. She was recently recognized for her work with domestic violence survivors by Naval Air Station Pensacola. Carrie currently serves on the Consumer Protection Committee of the Florida Bar and she serves on the board of directors of the Pensacola Boys and Girls Club.
