She graduated from The University of Connecticut School of Law in May of 2013 and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2021. Upon graduating from law school, Courtney served as a Senior Compliance Service Specialist (a JD preferred position where bar admission was not required) and led a team in forming LLCs for non-profits, developed workflow and procedures as well as worked with corporate clients. Ultimately though it was the love of the law that dictated her decision to reject a promotion and take the bar exam to return to the practice of law.Prior to law school, Courtney attended Siena College as a Presidential Scholar and Honor’s Fellow and received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with minors in Peace Studies and Woman’s Studies. Courtney’s Senior Thesis explored “Who Deserves the Right to Vote: Felon Disenfranchisement as a Violation of the Eighth Amendment”.Prior to joining Colwell Law, Courtney was an Associate Attorney with Gillberg Law Firm, LLC completing hundreds of residential real estate transactions annually.
