In 1972 he joined The Pyramid Companies, a Syracuse based shopping center developer, and served as General Counsel until he returned to private practice in 1981, establishing the firm of Van Epps & Shulman.While with Pyramid, he was responsible for land acquisition, leasing and financing of numerous enclosed mall shopping centers in upstate New York and in Massachusetts.
