Bio:I am a trial attorney, focusing on family disputes like divorce or custody matters. I also am a criminal defense attorney. There is more overlap between those seemingly diverse areas that one might think. Certainly, more than there should be. But my practice is not limited to where those areas meet. As a family law or, as I prefer, "divorce attorney," I tend to handle higher conflict cases, but am always happy to assist in drafting agreements in amicable cases as well. I do, in fact, work to settle even difficult cases by agreement. That, if it can be done, usually leads to better results than anything a judge will do after trial. That said, an agreement is not always possible. I know it is shocking to hear, but sometimes you do have to fight when getting divorced. That is most of what I do. In the criminal context, too, it is often advisable to work out a resolution with the prosecution -- if that is at all possible. But often people face the terrible choice of either walking into jail voluntarily or of going to trial. And when they do they need an experienced trial attorney to best present their case. I have over twenty-five years of experience doing precisely that. Read less |
