Bio:I was a hearing officer for the Michigan Secretary of State Driver License Appeals Division for 31 years. During my tenure as a hearing officer I presided over more than 25,000 hearings regarding individuals who had their driving privileges revoked/denied/suspended/terminated. The vast majority of the hearings I presided over were for individuals who had alcohol and/or drug driving convictions. In the last ten years of my practice I conducted thousands of hearings related to drivers who had an ignition interlock on their vehicle. The remaining hearings I conducted related to individuals who had their privileges suspended, restricted, revoked, denied for medical reasons, too many points or crashes, or other reasons. I retired from state service and returned to to private practice in January of 2010. I limit my practice to representing individuals who have issues with their driving privileges- only now I’m representing them in their attempt to retain their privileges, or seeking the return of their privileges after the state has taken an action suspending, revoking, or denying their privileges.   About 98% of my practice is representing individuals at hearings conducted by Driver License Appeal Division hearing officers- where I was employed for 31 years. Almost 100% of those clients have had alcohol and/or drug related convictions. My remaining clients had, or are in jeopardy of having, their driving privileges suspended, restricted or revoked because of issues relat
