Bio:Jerry D. Sanders was born in Pensacola, Florida, however he attended most of his grammar school in Key West, Florida. After attending junior high school at various other naval bases, he graduated from Escambia High School in Pensacola in 1961, from Emory University in 1965, (B.A. in Political Science), and Mercer University School of Law in 1968 (Cum Laude). In Law School he served as Senior Editor, Mercer Law Review, Chief Justice of the Court of Honor and Corrections, was a member of the Blue Key National Honor Society and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. He also was on the Dean's List and received the American Jurisprudence Award. Jerry also attended the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas as well as the Military Judges' Course, U.S. Army, and numerous other training courses and schools at the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's School, Charlottesville, Virginia.After four years of active duty with the United States Army from 1969 through 1973, including one year in combat assignments in the Republic of Vietnam, Jerry practiced law in general trial and civil practice in Georgia and Florida for 32 years. He also remained in the Georgia National Guard both as a Judge Advocate and in the Adjutant General's Corps.
