In 1994, then Governor Robert P. Casey appointed John to the Governor's Advisory Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, where he has served with distinction. Clean and sober for more than 34 years, John's avocation consists in extending a helping hand to those who suffer from alcoholism or other substance abuse.
