Mr. Lathrop is a good lawyer. He is a good communicator. He does not provide legal counsel unless he is thoroughly versed in that particular area of law. That is my experience with him and his practice of law. The law firm he worked for at the time of the review is Parker Stanbury (PS). They are The CA Provider Firm for Legal Shield, a membership organization that provides it's members access to lawyers nation wide but, PS rarely represents any of those members. The Lawyers at PS provide limited legal services within the confines of the Legal Shield membership agreement. While it is a bargain to have access to lawyers for a nominal monthly fee, it also many times comes with unrealistic expectations on the part of the members due to the network marketing strategy Legal Shield employs to sell the membership causing The Associates who market their product to over promise the benefits of the membership. For this reason, many members are disappointed with the service they receive despite the attorneys performing as they are required to under their contract with Legal Shield. I'm a big fan of Legal Shield. It simply needs to be sold by The Associates properly.

Mr. Lathrop wrote a letter to the state of California to persuade the state to issue occupational certification to a qualified applicant so he could teach for my business. Mr. Lathrop made numerous errors in the letter including quoting the wrong law to support the case, giving the wrong area code for a phone number, not correctly naming the branch office of the state we had to deal with, and misspelling the name of my business. In his letter, Mr. Lathrop advised the state representative to contact me, the small business owner to resolve the situation. The applicant, whom I wished to hire, paid Mr. Lathrop to handle the situation. Instead of advising the state rep to contact the offices of Parker Stanbury, Mr. Lathrop dumped it back into my lap after I and the applicant had already exhausted ourselves trying to get the state to comply with the laws. How could an attorney be so careless?
